I am entering another contest over at Bitten By The Bug. Regina's sight is full of inspiration and totally ROCKS! The details for the contest are at http://regina-bittenbythebug.blogspot.com/2009/03/contest-time.html. The idea is that you have to take inspiration from an amazing piece of jewelry designed by Theresa Rose Designs. You have to use at least one Cricut cut and the due date is the end of March. Well the jewelry is a necklace that is silver and pink with a butterfly on it. It couldn't be more perfect for me. Pink is one of my 2 fave colors (brown is the other) and I am a total butterfly lover! I cut the card "old school". I cut a piece of 12x12 card stock in half and folded that piece in half. Then I took my circle cutter and cut a cirlce in the middle of the front of the card to make it an aperture card. Then I cut a piece of patterned paper with a circle in the middle just a bit bigger than the one on the card to frame the front of the card. I did the same exact thing with yellow cardstock to frame the inside left of the card.
I took the 2 circles that I had cut from the yellow cardstock and the pink cardstock (for the card) and mounted the pink on the yellow and mounted it so it fit the hole in the front of the card (without the yellow showing through).
I cut the butterfly at 3 1/2 inches with the Walk In My Garden cartridge on my Cricut E. I cut the shadow in black. Then the bottom layer in a medium pink. Then the top later in a darker pink. I glued down the top butterfly only in the middle so the wings could kind of "float" up throught the middle of the hole on the front of the card. I cut the center and accessory pieces of the butterfly in 2 different pieces of yellow. I added glitter pen, pink chalk ink and pen dots for some detail. The little butterflies on the inside are a Martha Stewart punch. The photo corners are an EK Success punch. The words are all rubber stamped.
On the front I cut flowers at 1 inch and 1 1/2 inches from WIMG. I used gems for the centers. The leaves are cut from yellow cardstock with a Punch Bunch punch. The photo corner is cut from the Jasmine cart at 3 1/2 inches (rds). I used 2 pieces of 18 inch ribbon (1 yellow, 1 red) and tied them around the top, in seperate bows. I stapled them at the top and bottom of the card.
On the back I used the same patterned paper as on the front. I mounted it on yellow paper and inked it with pink chalk ink. TFL. Wish me luck!
Winter Snowflake Swirl or Hannakah Card

So these are the 3rd card for the class. The participants get to do either the Winter Snowflake Swirl or Hannakah. They are the same card except the die cuts in the center. I used the Cricut for all the die cuts. I used Storybook for the big scalloped swirly shape in the middle and for the circles. Joys of the Season was used for the Snowflakes, Star of David and Dreidle. The photo corners were cut with Jasmine and then embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. TFL!

This is my entry for the Cricut Message Board Demonstrator Survey. I had a lot of fun making it and I really like how it came out. I was going to just try to make a nice card and I really couldn't get inspired. But, then I decided to make it for a friend and it all came to me at once. It is so much easier to make a card when there is some "love" behind it.
I mainly used Storybook. I also used Jasmine for the corner and Accent Essentials for the Scallop Border accross the middle. Let me know what you think.
