A Ribbon Tree Card-My Version
Tuesday, October 7, 2008
This is card 2 of 3 for my class. It is my take on a Ribbon Tree card. The idea was not mine. It was the original idea of Claire Brennan all the way in Ireland. I am a fan of her blog and saw her ribbon tree and knew it would be a waaay fun card to make and teach. So, I emailed her and asked her permission to use her idea and make it into something I could do in a class. She was very kind and allowed me to use her idea for this purpose. And this is what I came up with. To see her original design, go to: http://waltzingmouse.blogspot.com/2008/09/ribbon-tree.html. It is SOOOOO fabulous!
For my card, I used the Cricut, with the Storybook cart, to make the scalloped oval and the regular oval. I used star eyelets and laced silver metallic floss through the middle and attached it to the back. Then I tied on the ribbon in long lengths and cut it to the right lengths. The paper behind the tree is metallic, but it is hard to see in the picture.
